Firewalls are network devices protecting PC or a whole computer network from unwanted attacks both from internet and intranet. Compared to software firewalls running on the actual protected facility these firewalls have a significant advantage. They are located before the protected device, therefore break-in attempts do not burden server or stations. As there are no other services running on the firewall, compromising is much more difficult than in case of a server-located firewall.

Our firewalls are Linux-based and in addition to classic packet filter they offer advanced filtration methods such as status filter and layer7 filter to identify operation based on packets content. This method is especially suitable for identification and contingent blocking of VoIP or P2P networking.

To protect important servers from attacks from within the network, we recommend placing the protected servers into firewall DMZ (demilitarized zone).

routers

Routers serve to interconnect two or more networks. These could be local networks, internet or VPN networks. Our routers can be supplied with scalable network interface enabling connection of a large number of physical networks. They are also Linux-based.

• Packet routing can be set both statically and dynamically using OSPF and BGP protocols. The routers also support Source policy routing, which is routing based on source IP address.

• Quality of Services (QoS), that is securing quality of services, is a frequent extension of our routers. These tools enable to define maximum allowed speeds for individual clients or networks and to secure required priority for interactive services such as VoIP, VNC, rdesktop and others. As well as in case of firewalls we offer layer7 filter capable of detecting e.g. P2P networks operation and setting required speeds to them.

• VPN connection * is best solved directly on routers. Using encrypted channels thus enables interconnection of several geographically different networks or enables end users to access corporate network from home. For more information on VPN click here.

Firewalls and routers are offered either as a 19" rackmount assembly (1U, 2U or 4U) or as a common miditower or desktop.
