Internet servers
Due to safety reasons servers designated solely for internet services are offered on UNIX/Linux platform only. The servers are similar to corporate servers. However, emphasis is put on maximum data throughput rate of internet services as well as on safety. In case there is nowhere you can place your internet server, we offer serverhosting services with quality backbone connection into NIX and abroad.
software
- Apache web server serves to provide websites via http protocol. It is supplied either in prefork or worker mode depending on web applications used. Extension using PHP5mod_python or mod_perl modules is implied.
Both http and encrypted https channels may be operated. - smtp server sendmail or postfix serves to receive and send e-mail messages. It works in co-operation with an anti-virus system and spam filter.
Encrypted smtp/ssl version may be established as well. - spam filter is a group of programmes utilized to check incoming messages for spam. We use spamassassin to check e-mail content, blacklisting, greylisting and other milter filters.
- imap4/pop3 server. We recommend courier-imap, which enables clients to access their mail via imap a pop3 protocols. Secured versions of imap/ssl and pop3/ssl are obviously offered as well.
- SQL server. PostgreSQL is recommended. Other database systems such as MySQL, Firebird or Oracle can be used as well.
This is obviously a basic list of server services only. If required by a customer we can provide other services and applications as well.
hardware
Server solution is closely related to quality of the server’s hardware equipment. Our servers are supplied in configurations minimizing the risk of hardware failure. The actual server solution is offered either as a 19" rackmount assembly (1U, 2U or 4U) or as a common miditower.
- Disc array is a space to store all corporate data. In order to secure operation of the server even in case of a hard disc failure, the disc array is composed in RAID 1, RAID5 or LVM modes. Individual discs of the disc array are connected according to expected load via SAS (Serial Attached SCSI),SATA2 (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) or Ultra320 SCSI bus.
- Data back-up. Utilization of back-up technology is based on size of the disc array on the server and on daily back-up size. We offer back-up using either external hard discs connected via USB2 interface or 100/1000Mbit ethernet. A back-up server able to handle all data including history in required scope can be used to back-up the largest disc arrays.
